ACYOA Awards

Awards are given annually in May.

Chapter "A" Award This award is given to an ACYOA Senior Chapter that has best fulfilled the requirements established by the ACYOA Central Council.
Sam Nersesian Award This award is given to an individual who displays Christian values of love, patience, humility, and understanding.
Gregory Arpajian Leadership Award This award is given to an individual who displays leadership and service to the Armenian Church and the Armenian Community.
Very Rev. Fr. Haigazoun Melkonian Award The Very Rev. Fr. Haigazoun Melkonian Award is given each year to a member of the clergy for his passionate leadership, exemplary service and dedicated efforts on behalf of the youth of the Armenian Church in loving memory of a pastor whose dynamic ministry to youth continues to bear fruit.    
Rev. Fr. Haroutiun Dagley and Yn. Patricia Dagley Award The Rev. Fr. Haroutiun Dagley Award is given each year to a layperson for his/her continued devotion to the youth of the Armenian Church in loving memory of a pastor and Yeretzgin whose commitment continues to be an exemplary model for all Christians.    
Abp. Tiran Nersoyan Service Award This award is given to an ACYOA Junior who has served the Armenian Church with the same humility and compassion as the late founder of the ACYOA.
Abp. Tiran Nersoyan Leadership Award This award is given to an ACYOA Junior who has taken on leadership roles within his/her ACYOA chapter and/or parish, and has approached those roles with Christian love, understanding, and patience.
Abp. Tiran Nersoyan Vision Award This award is given to an ACYOA Junior who has established programs that incorporate one or more of the five circles of the cross (education, worship, service, witness and fellowship), and who has made a lasting impression on his or her ACYOA chapter and/or parish.
ACYOA Junior Chapter “A” Award This award is given to an ACYOA Junior organization that has done its best to create an atmosphere conducive to Christian love, education, and service.

 

Gregory Arpajian Leadership Award

Initiated in 1992, this award is given to an individual who has displayed leadership in service to the Armenian Church and Armenian community. It is named after Gregory Arpajian, a former ACYOA Central Council member, who tragically succumbed to Leukemia at age 26. Before and during his illness, Gregory was actively involved in the organization of the 1990 ACYOA National Sports Weekend in Cleveland, Ohio.
