Annual Blood Drive
Delegates of the 2008 ACYOA General Assembly passed a resolution to sponsor a Diocesan-wide Blood Drive to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the 1988 earthquake in Armenia. It was a way of expressing appreciation to the Red Cross for their invaluable assistance to our brothers and sisters in the homeland during that difficult time. The following states organized local blood drives between December 2008 and April 2009: Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia.
The effort was such a success that the Central Council decided to make the Blood Drive an annual event. To assist chapters and parishes interested in sponsoring a program in their local communities, the Central Council has provided promotional materials and instructions on how to organize a blood drive.
