St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church
Chicago, IL
Alisha Panthier has been an active member of St. Gregory The Illuminator Armenian Church in Chicago since she was young. Alisha is a Sunday School graduate. She joined her ACYOA Juniors chapter when she was twelve and served as the chairperson at sixteen. Alisha serves as a committed member of her Church’s Senior ACYOA. Alisha grew up going to Hye Camp and served as a CIT and counselor. Alisha loved having the opportunity to connect and serve her community.
Alisha graduated from North Park University in 2020. While there she played Collegiate Basketball for four years and was captain for two. Alisha graduated Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2024 and works as a Cook County Public Defender. Alisha's passion is public interest work. Alisha strongly believes that public interest work is essential and she truly enjoys helping individuals in need.
Alisha hopes to bring an aspect of diversity to Central Council. Being half Armenian and half Dominican (Dominica- Caribbean), Alisha wants to show the Armenian community that not all Armenians look the same and hopefully encourage the many Armenians who aren’t “Armenian looking” to feel more welcomed and join the Armenian community. It is Alisha’s goal to create a more comfortable space for diverse individuals in the Armenian community and pave the way for others like her. Alisha is excited to get more involved in the Armenian community and is excited for the experiences to come!
