Annual General Assembly & Sports Weekend
After seven years, ACYOA General Assembly & Sports Weekend is finally back in Providence, RI!
Way back in 1946, the first General Assembly & Sports Weekend was held in Providence and we are looking forward to bringing it back to where it all began! We have a great committee, working very hard on organizing a great weekend for all of our fellow ACYOA members!
What can you expect at the 2013 General Assembly & Sports Weekend? We don't want to let all of our secrets out, but we have secured a great hotel, booked all of our night venues, found a brand new facility for athletics and have found some excellent entertainment! One thing we can tell you, Saturday night will be a night to remember with over a dozen Armenian musicians on stage together!
We will be releasing more information soon, including hotel information, registration and venues. Be sure to check out our facebook page.

Saturday Night: KEFTIME Providence 2013!
All we can say is, you better bring your dancing shoes! A New England tradition, Kef dances have ignited Church halls throughout the years, with the tantalizing sounds of the oud, the thump of the dumbeg and the loud chants of Meg, Yergoo, Yerek, Chorce! We are proud to say, we are keeping the tradition alive, although this time, bigger and better than before!
You have danced to Onnik Dinkjian, Ara Dinkjian, Richard Hagopian and John Berberian before, but have you witnessed them performing together! One stage, one night, you will be given:
Onnik Dinkijian - Vocals
Richard Hagopian - Oud/Vocals
Ara Dinkjian - Keyboard

Chris Vosbikian - Dumbeg

Through the years, the AD booklet has been the most successful form of fundraising within each weekend. Many ACYOA Alumni as well as present ACYOA members have had their lives impacted by the ACYOA. Through the sixty six year history of this weekend, friendships have been formed, relationships created and marriages made possible all from members attending the Sports Weekend.
This is your chance to show your appreciation and celebrate the history of the weekend by donating to the 2013 General Assembly and Sports Weekend! Together we can keep the rich tradition of this weekend going for another sixty six years! All donations are greatly appreciated, small or big, everything helps, please help us create a memorable experience!
Family pictures, a memory from a past weekend, or just a simple good luck wish, feel free to get creative!

All sporting events will be held at the Providence Career and Technical Institute. This is a brand new facility in the heart of Providence which has been a host to NCAA games. One of the best features is a full regulation wooden floor. Not playing sports? Don't worry; there will be plenty of seating for you to enjoy watching your favorite Armenian athletes! Lunch and snacks will be provided throughout the weekend.
Do you think your chapter has what it takes to bring home the Volleyball trophy? Do you have a star basketball team? Well here is your chance to bring home the coveted overall championship trophy! We are also offering a new team sport...Penalty kick soccer shootout!
Your chapter chairperson will be sent the team registration and rule forms. If you are without an ACYOA chapter, please contact us and we will work with you on placing you on a regional team, formed with other athletes who are without a team. Don't let this deter you.
Other individual events will be offered. There is no registration for these sports, upon your arrival to the gym, you will be given the opportunity to jump right into the activities! For more information email email@example.com
