Former ACYOA Programming
Leadership Conference
Leadership Conference
The inaugural ACYOA Seniors Leadership Conference was held in 2000 and is an opportunity for young members of the Armenian Church to hone their leadership skills to better serve their parishes and communities. Through workshops, discussions and group work, participants identify challenges and opportunities in their parishes and develop the tools needed to address these issues. Leadership Conference was succeeded by the National Fall Retreat in 2018.
Chapter Workshop
Held in 2009, the inaugural ACYOA Seniors Chapter Workshop was initially aimed at ACYOA members in leadership positions. Participants gathered for a weekend filled with learning through interactive discussions and worship as they honed in on their leadership skills. Through the years, Chapter Workshop opened up to all current and prospective ACYOA members. Chapter Connections succeeded Chapter Workshop in 2019 when Central Council members will start facilitating mini workshops with chapters on a local level, rather than a national level.
ACYOA 75+1 Anniversary Celebration
The ACYOA celebrated the 75th anniversary of its founding in 2021! Due to public health concerns, the 75th Anniversary Celebration was postponed from September 2021 to September 2022. The ACYOA Central Council celebrated the ACYOA’s 75+1 Anniversary with the 2022 ACYOA Bishop’s 5k on Saturday, September 17 at 9am ET at St. Leon Armenian Church, with the blessing of our Primate, Very Rev. Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan. With options to participate in-person or remotely anytime through September 17, the 5K was open to ALL ages and abilities, as we walked, jogged and ran down memory lane with generations of ACYOA alumni!
As Former Primate of the Eastern Diocese, His Grace Bishop Daniel Findikyan envisioned the Bishop's 5K as a way to promote physical and spiritual health. On site, we will be hosting a sneaker drive in partnership with Hoops 4 Hayastan, but should you not be able to physically participate, we are accepting donations in place of a registration. Participants are asked to bring new or lightly used sneakers for the sneaker drive, which will be donated to youth in Armenia, supporting Hoops4Hayastan's mission of providing opportunities for children through basketball. All other proceeds from the 5K will go toward developing future ACYOA programs and ministries, such as the ACYOA Mission Trip, Retreats and more.
