The inaugural ACYOA Seniors Leadership Conference was held in 2000 and is an opportunity for young members of the Armenian Church to hone their leadership skills to better serve their parishes and communities. Through workshops, discussions and group work, participants identify challenges and opportunities in their parishes and develop the tools needed to address these issues. Leadership Conference was succeeded by the National Fall Retreat in 2018.
Held in 2009, the inaugural ACYOA Seniors Chapter Workshop was initially aimed at ACYOA members in leadership positions. Participants gathered for a weekend filled with learning through interactive discussions and worship as they honed in on their leadership skills. Through the years, Chapter Workshop opened up to all current and prospective ACYOA members. Chapter Connections succeeded Chapter Workshop in 2019 when Central Council members will start facilitating mini workshops with chapters on a local level, rather than a national level.
Regional Lenten Retreats
During the period of Great Lent, the ACYOA Central Council facilitates regional lenten retreats. These retreats provide a forum for open and honest discussion, cooperation and communication among the chapters in a given region. Based on the needs of a particular region, the gathering can also provide education or spiritual growth.
