2020 ACYOA Seniors Mission Trip

The ACYOA Mission Trip is a weekend-long, faith-based service trip for young adults to provide outreach to a mission parish of the Eastern Diocese and its community at large. Programs similar to this have been done in the past, but have been dormant in recent years. The ACYOA Central Council is excited to revive this initiative by partnering with Habitat for Humanity as they build a home near our Atlanta Mission Parish in Roswell, GA.

The Mission Trip will take place Thursday, February 6 - Sunday, February 9, 2020. Participants are expected to coordinate and pay for their transportation to/from Atlanta Hartsfield Airport (ATL). Participants must arrive no later than 9:00 PM on Friday, February 6 and depart no earlier than 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 9.

This trip is open to all young adults ages 18-28 from across the Eastern Diocese that are physically capable of participating on a Habitat for Humanity worksite and interested in providing service and outreach to the Atlanta Mission Parish Community. This trip will be limited to 20 participants, plus a clergyman leader and assistant trip leader. All applications will be thoughtfully reviewed, and acceptance will be made by December 20, based on an applicant’s essay questions and ability to fully contribute to the mission and purpose of the trip.

There is no cost to register. The full cost of the program is being underwritten by the ACYOA Central Council, using the proceeds of the 2019 Bishop's 5K. Therefore, all participants will be provided lodging, ground transportation, and two meals a day. In addition, the participant fees for Habitat for Humanity will be covered. However, participants will be encouraged to help fundraise.

Applications are DUE by Monday, December 16. Please complete this online application as the first step in your application process.
