Shahe Der Torossian has been devoted to his faith and continues to show it through his service in church, in ACYOA, and in the overall Armenian community. He is currently an altar server and continues to deepen his faith by learning more about the history of the Armenian church and the meaning of what it means to be an Armenian Christian. 

 

Shahe has been an active member within ACYOA since 2013, both at the Juniors and Seniors level. In 2016, Shahe received the Archbishop Tiran Nersoyan Visionary Award for his continued dedication to helping out the ACYOA. He recently helped prepare for ACYOA General Assembly Sports Weekend 2026, as it was hosted by his parish. While being in ACYOA, Shahe learned many leadership skills, while making life-long Armenian friendships across the nation! 

 

In academia, Shahe graduated from Suffolk University (Boston) in 2022, where he completed his undergraduate with a bachelor’s in Finance and a minor in graphic design. While at Suffolk, he was also involved in their Armenian Students Association (ASA), where he would help promote Armenian culture. 

 

Shahe with his free time likes to play volleyball and attend Armenian dance classes!

His hopes with being on Central Council is to help spread the awareness and impact that ACYOA can have as a place for anyone to learn christian values, meet life-long friends, and make memories that last a lifetime.
